Dr Naseem Zehra Zaidi

I have had training in both Pakistan and the United Kingdom. These two different approaches helped me to develop my skills and experience tremendously, allowing me to excel in the field of obstetrics and gynaecology. My passion is to help women lead a healthy life and help them achieve this by providing them the best possible treatment, alongside care counselling and giving them support as an individual. All of this has been enabled by my vast experience within the field, allowing me to deliver an exceptional quality of care.

I am affiliated with NHS since 2004. I have been associated with the NHS since 2004, and my seniority has led me to training junior doctors in medical programs and GP training, resulting in consistently high performing trainees.

 Teaching Experience

In my current role, I am involved in the formal teaching of the medical students, SHOs and junior registrars. This is in the form of patient based discussions (CBD), evaluation of their clinical skills (mini-Cex), OSATS and in small groups teaching.

I am also actively involved as a trainer in teaching courses and programmes. At UHNS and in New
Cross I was responsible for teaching laparoscopic skills to juniors on simulator. I am also member of Pakistan Liaison Group, working in collaboration with RCOG to impart training in Pakistan and help them improving provision of care to women by teaching and training health professionals developing guidelines
and fund raising.

As a registrar working at tertiary hospital I had the privilege of undertaking tutorials and lectures for undergraduate medical students Birmingham University Hospital. Teaching being my special interest. I am enthusiastically involved in the regular post graduate teaching sessions.

I have gained experience in teaching – interactively, involving trainees, at different career levels in small and large groups. I enjoy teaching medical students at “Problem Based Learning”, tutorials and at bedsides.

I am very keen to train SHOs on the labor ward in fetal blood sampling, instrumental deliveries and caesarean sections.

I have helped in organizing MBBS examinations in Pakistan at Karachi Dental and Medical College

I was also involved in several marketing lectures such as “awareness of developmental changes at puberty & menstrual cycles in teenagers", “ sexually transmitted diseases and early pregnancy problems”, organised by Key Social Marketing Pakistan (Family planning association).

 Career Aim

I am fortunate to be trained in UK’s two top best deaneries and training programme, London deanery and in West midland deanery, both southern and midland experience has given me a valuable exposure and experience in Obstetrics & Gynaecology and also contributed overwhelmingly to my clinical and surgical skills.

At this stage of my career, having achieved so much has enabled me to work as a specialist with vast experience and use my knowledge and experience for the well being of women to enable them lead their life dealing with their Gynae issues at best. I am constantly training my juniors and approaching my retirement as far as my NHS work is concerned. I would like to continue to train my juniors and share my three decades experience world wide.

I am also interested in visiting underprivileged areas to provide treatment and support to women. I am also planning to provide aesthetic Gynae services to women in need and use the aesthetic sense built in within myself. I am also looking into making myself available for more international work and experience. I wish to continue my work in the field as long as possible by the Grace of All Might ALLAH.
